WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPEAK TO YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD POLICE TEAM?
Merseyside Police have made significant changes to their website to make it easier for the public to identify who their local Police team are and to easily get in touch with them.

On the Merseyside Police website this link:
www.merseyside.police.uk/area/your-area/merseyside/sefton/ lists all the electoral wards in Sefton. Selecting one (eg. Birkdale) leads to a page with local information for each ward. There are several tabs with useful information including:
On The Team: a list of the officers allocated to that neighbourhood team
Meetings and Events: several of the wards in Southport hold drop-in sessions for members of the public to meet their neighbourhood officers in an informal setting. At the time of writing there are regular sessions for Ainsdale, Birkdale, Cambridge, Dukes and Meols. Ad hoc sessions have been arranged for Norwood and Kew.
News: the latest updates for Sefton

For non-urgent queries, when you would like to contact the Neighbourhood Police responsible for your local area, you can use the Police Community email b.community.hub.2@merseyside.police.uk
This email address is monitored by the Neighbourhood Police teams. If you put "For the attention of the (your ward eg Birkdale) Neighbourhood Police team", it will be picked up by a local Police officer with responsibility for your area.

If you are in danger you can call 999 without speaking.
Call 999 from a mobile:
If you don't speak or answer questions, press 55 when prompted and your call will be transferred to the police. Pressing 55 only works on mobiles and doesn't allow the police to track your location. If you don't press 55 your call will be ended.
Call 999 from a landline:
If you don't speak or answer questions and the operator can only hear background noise, they'll transfer your call to the police. If you replace the handset, the landline may remain connected for 45 seconds in case you pick it up again. Calling 999 from a landline automatically gives the police information about your location.
