WELCOME TO SOUTHPORT HOMEWATCH ASSOCIATION

Southport Homewatch Association is a volunteer run group which exists to support the creation, and running, of Homewatch groups (also known as Schemes) in the Southport area.

​

A Homewatch Scheme brings together a group of neighbours who want to:

  • Reduce the likelihood of becoming victims of crime

  • Get to know their neighbours better

  • Help to build a safer, stronger, more active local community

  • Help to combat isolation and support vulnerable households in their street

  • Have a common voice to address areas of concern for residents

It's really simple to set up a group, or register if you already have a residents' group. See our Get Involved page for more details and the benefits of joining.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

Southport Homewatch Association operates under the umbrella of the national Neighbourhood Watch network. 

Scheme Leaders (known as Coordinators in Neighbourhood Watch) and group Members are encouraged to join Ourwatch (the Neighbourhood Watch web-based organization). Registration on the Ourwatch website is not a pre-condition of running a Homewatch Group.

MERSEYSIDE POLICE:

Southport Homewatch is supported by the Citizens In Policing unit based in Merseyside Police HQ in Liverpool.

 Committee members who handle member personal details undergo second level Police vetting.

Southport Homewatch is not part of the Police and information / contact details are not shared without explicit permission.
